Provenance

This wine is produced from selected old vines on the southern slopes of the Montagne d’Alaric, in the district of Lagrasse. The soil is a red gravelly calcareous clay.

Grape varieties

  • Grenache: 50 %
  • Syrah:22 %
  • Cinsault: 20 %
  • Mourvèdre: 8%

Entirely harvested by hand.

Wine-making

The grapes are crushed before being put in a vat to macerate for 6 to 8 hours. The juice is then drained off, decanted and left to ferment at a low temperature (15-17°)for 15 to 20 days

After fining to clear the juice and filtration, the rosé is bottled starting in January to conserve its bouquet and freshness.

Description

The freshness and mellowness of Grenache, the delicacy of Cinsaut and the perfumes of Syrah give the Peyres Nobles rosé its elegance and harmony.

Salmon pink in colour, its nose reminiscent of wild red fruit and raspberry anticipates a body which is round yet fresh at the same time.

A relaxed summer wine, delicious as an aperitif, its lively well-balanced structure make it an ideal accompaniment for fish or Asian dishes.

Bettanes & Desseauve : Classification of the Best French Wines 2009

The Peyres Nobles rosé 2007 is well made, a real wine, slightly tannic, with balanced alcohol. Goes well with barbecued meat.
